To all of the Presidents of all of the Clubs in the Association

From the WSDA President

This letter is to inform you of a special meeting called to clear the air and disseminate information regarding the Western Square Dance Jamboree. We are hoping again to receive support from all of the clubs, in this endeavor. We, as a presidency, see this as a time of coming together and working together for a common cause, that can build our clubs and association. By working together we form new friendships and learn more about each other. We want visitors coming to the Jamboree to see that our association isn’t just supported by a few individuals but that the clubs work together and enjoy the time spent to make ours the best and strongest association in the state. We understand that and we will try to make this meeting as short and informative as possible.

To make this possible we need help from you. As you probably know the Jamboree is in May and there is a lot to be done before then. Included in this mailing is a list of all the jobs that need to be covered by the clubs to make the Jamboree happen. What we are asking you to do is to present these things (a brief explanation of each is included) discuss the list at your next club meeting and please choose 3 things from the list in order of preference.

We realize it is possible that your club will decide not to support the activity (as has happened before), we ask that you attend the meeting and let us know this also. It will save both our selves and you much time and aggravation. We understand that in this hectic world it is difficult to commit to one more things. We are working hard to bring this association and the clubs in it, back to where they once were. Success feeds on success. The more visible we are in the community more people want to get involved. The more people get involved the stronger our clubs get. So in the end you are simply helping yourselves. For those of you that have been in square dancing, you may remember what the Western Round-up used to be like. Over the last years (like much of square dancing ) it fell dismally. Now we are starting to see a resurgence of new membership, and if you haven’t been to the Jamboree in the last few years then you don’t know how much it has grown. We now have a respectable association festival. We KNOW it can be better.

So here is the information for the meeting
